What is Possible with our APIs

Our APIs provide access to all parts of the business reporting chain functionality necessary for system-to-system integration.

Our APIs are the most widely used functionality of our software. We process approximately 60% of our transactions via API integrations from Independent Software Vendors (ISV) and Customers. These integrations allow 3rd parties to seamlessly integrate business reporting (XBRL) functionality into their existing software.

Standard Protocols

XML over SOAP with session- based authentication or JSON over REST with API keys.  Both APIs provide high- performance business reporting (XBRL) functionality in the Cloud.

Updated Regularly

Our cloud software is updated regularly based on our roadmap, regulatory updates, or bug fixes.

Secured and Certified

We follow industry best practices for API security.  Additionally, we have ISO certifications and scan our infrastructure multiple times per year.

All functionality

All parts of the business reporting chain from Taxonomy to Analysis are available. What you can do in the product (Desktop, OnPremise, or Cloud) you can do via the API.

Make your software or processes more efficient with a cutting-edge integration with our powerful Business Reporting (XBRL) software.

System to System integration is the name of the game…

Whether you’re an ISV developer deploying your end-user software or a customer whose business reporting (XBRL) burden is too high and inaccurate, you can integrate our APIs efficiently and quickly.

ISVs often want to focus on their business problem and outsource the complexities and administrative burden of regulatory business reporting in XBRL.

Getting Started

Discuss your integration and business problem with our experienced Product Manager and Solutions Architect. Together they’ll evaluate the best APIs to use to fulfill your functional needs. Also, this is the first discussion to evaluate any changes necessary for more efficient integration of necessary features.

Once we’ve ensured that our APIs will support your problem, we want to get you up and running as quickly as possible.  We will therefore provide access to our PreProduction environment within days.  Additionally, you’ll have access to our support channel, solution architect, and product manager to support your integration activities.

Now you’ve done your integration testing and everything looks good.  All you need to do now is change the URL and access information and you’ll be on our high-performance production instance.

After your go-live, we support all customers on a quarterly basis with a walk-through of our roadmap.  What we accomplished last quarter and what we’re looking forward to the next quarter and beyond.  This is the key avenue to learn about our updates and also influence our features and functionality.

Render Consistent Presentation PDF

Supply XBRL in JSON and receive a PDF (human readable) in Consistent Presentation Format.

Documentation

User Management

User management is a selfservice online system to create, manage, modify and revoke any user, company, team or workgroup all with their respective user roles and authorization rights.

Documentation

Manage clients

When a client is registered in the xbrlOne platform user information can be required to be able to view and modify user details in a registered company all with their respective user roles and authorization rights
Documentation

Document Generation

A main functionality of the xbrlOne platform is the possibility to generate XBRL Instance documents from any legacy data. Legacy data can be provided in a simple Data feed and be mapped to any taxonomy using a mapping file.
Documentation

DataBridge and Account Map validation

The data from business systems is collected as-is, which means the easiest way to export the data without unnecessary modification or changes. Using the advanced mapping the data can be handled and processed for XBRL reporting to ensure correct compliance to XBRL. The Mapping file and the DataBridge can be validated on schema correctness to ensure it can be processed when provided on the platform for further usage in a process.

Documentation

Reporting Service

The xbrlOne platform keeps a detailed transaction history in its database. This can be used for track and trace by companies and communitiesThe transaction history contains details of every individual transaction by user, by taxonomy, by company, by file, on date and time and process data for success, taxonomy and source files used.

Documentation

Communication Service

This module of xbrlOne is specifically for the delivery communication with the Dutch government filing portal (Digipoort) and the communication with the portal of the retails banks in The Netherlands (BIV=Bancaire Infrastructurele Voorziening). On a request and project basis, it can be extended to support communication portals for other regulatory environments.

Documentation

Foundation Services

The ‘foundation‘ web service is part of all web services provided by the xbrlOne platform. It provides functions to log in and log out and to specify for whom a transaction needs to take place (who is the owner of an action executed on the platform). The service also handles basic file handling.

Documentation

Render OB/ICP PDF

Supply XBRL in JSON and receive a PDF (human readable) based on the OB (VAT Declaration) and ICP (Intra-Community Services) taxonomies.

Documentation

Register client

When registering a new client, the client or user will not receive any communication from the xbrlOne platform. So it will not get account information or login details.

Documentation

Document Rendering

Make the reports in the way you want for every XBRL document. Document rendering is the possibility to convert an XBRL Instance document into a readable output like HTML or PDF. The reports can be used as an intermediary, for customers and internal use. A user can choose a different layout for internal use than the receiver needs.
Documentation

Document Validation

The validation processes of XBRL documents ensure that the information is complete and reliable. Processing of incorrect data in an XBRL document must be avoided. Validation in two areas of an instance document by both parties (reporter and receiver) is required to realize good quality reporting supply chains. Documents need to be validated on a technical level as well as a content level.
Documentation

Taxonomy Browsing

To facilitate any internal software developer or software vendors Semansys has included in the xbrlOne platform a full taxonomy metadata query service, named Taxonomy Browser. With Taxonomy Browser a software developer does not have to build any XBRL technology but can instantly collect and use all metadata contained in any simple or complex taxonomy. The result of any query on the Taxonomy Browser is an XML file that can be consumed and processed instantly in applications.

Documentation

Formula Validation

Formula link base makes a separation of specific data of report domains based on an abstract model of the report facts which ensures the quality of the content. With the Formula link base, the user can make sure XBRL documents are according to the reporting requirements of the public authorities. Users can also expand the Formula link base with custom rules. Quality is enforced by using the Formula link base in the exchange of XBRL information.

Documentation

Assurance Service

Automatically run all needed validation and render processes needed for an auditor. The user can simply submit an XBRL instance and the Assurance Server will perform all processes and when ready generate a secure container as Assurance Package (ZIP) with all results. The use of profiles allows specifying what processes should be performed.
