Digital Reporting
Integration and Automation

Semansys fits your systems. Not the other way around.

Regulatory reporting is not a standalone activity. It is the downstream product of data that originates in ERP systems, financial consolidation platforms, accounting software, and data warehouses. Making that data submission-ready should be an automated step in an existing workflow, not a separate, manual process that requires specialist knowledge and repeat effort every reporting cycle.

Semansys is designed from the ground up for integration. Every capability the platform offers is available through a clean, fully documented API. Whatever your stack, whatever your reporting volume, whatever your delivery target: you can connect, automate, and scale.

A platform built for programmatic access

The entire Semansys XBRL platform is exposed through a RESTful API, documented to OpenAPI specification and available in sandbox and production environments. Authentication is handled through a robust authorisation framework designed for enterprise use. Every capability covered in this documentation (validation, taxonomy access, document generation, format conversion, and regulatory delivery) is available as an API call.

This is not a UI with an API bolted on. The API is the product. The browser-based interface that end users work in is itself built on top of the same endpoints your developers integrate against.

Delivery to regulators, built in

Digipoort delivery. For Dutch SBR filings, the platform delivers directly to Digipoort, the national government gateway for structured business reporting. Submission status is tracked asynchronously and returned via the API, so your application can monitor delivery without polling.

SBR Nexus delivery. SBR Nexus, the next-generation Dutch delivery infrastructure, is fully supported. Submissions flow through the correct gateway automatically based on the target registration and entrypoint.

Status tracking. Delivery status (acknowledgements, receipts, error responses) is available programmatically in real time. Your systems know immediately whether a submission was accepted, queued, or rejected, with the regulator’s response surfaced directly in the API response.

Integration patterns

Embed in any software product. Software vendors building ERP, accounting, consolidation, or compliance applications can embed Semansys XBRL capabilities directly, making XBRL generation, validation, and submission a native feature of their product without building or maintaining a processing engine in-house. This is the model used by some of Europe’s largest enterprise software vendors. You bring the application; we bring the XBRL engine.

Automate reporting pipelines. Organisations with high-volume reporting obligations (financial institutions, large accountancy firms, regulatory filings services) can automate the complete pipeline: ingest structured data from source systems, generate XBRL instances, validate against the current taxonomy and filing rules, convert to the required output format, and deliver to the regulator, all without human intervention in the critical path.

Batch and event-driven processing. The API supports both synchronous and asynchronous processing patterns. High-volume batch workflows are handled efficiently; event-driven architectures can trigger validation or delivery on data availability without waiting for a scheduled job.

Chunked file upload. Large report packages and high-volume submissions are supported through a chunked upload mechanism, enabling reliable transfer of large artefacts over standard connections without timeout risk.

Secure file management. The platform provides a full file management layer through the API: upload, download, version history, and multi-file handling. Files associated with a submission (instance documents, taxonomy extensions, report packages) are stored securely and accessible throughout the lifecycle of a filing.

User and role management. For organisations running multi-user workflows (where preparers, reviewers, and submitters operate in defined roles), the platform provides programmatic user and role management, enabling integration with identity and access management systems.

A sustainable integration investment

Semansys operates a formal API change policy with defined notification periods. Breaking changes are communicated in advance. Versioning is managed so that existing integrations continue to operate whilst you migrate to new capabilities at your own pace. You are not at the mercy of undocumented changes.

The platform is hosted on enterprise-grade infrastructure, certified to ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 20000-1:2018, with independently audited SOC 2 attestation. Uptime, security, and performance are not promises. They are obligations we take on as a certified service provider.

Semansys APIs are the key to boosting efficiency in your business reporting processes.

From a single filing to millions

Whether you are a single company filing one annual report or a service bureau processing tens of thousands of submissions per year, the same API scales to meet your needs. Our customers include individual businesses, large accountancy practices, and enterprise software vendors serving thousands of end-user organisations. The architecture does not change; the volume just grows.
